Dr Rudolf Liebenberg is a General Adult Psychiatrist, treating adults aged 18-65 years old.  His tailored approach to his patients combines evidence-based psychiatric medication with psychotherapy, guidance and related general medical care.  He is collaborative and compassionate and enjoys the unique challenges of mental health. 

He admits patients requiring inpatient care to Life Path Health Claro Clinic in Cape Town’s centrally located N1 City and provides liaison psychiatric services to Netcare N1 City Hospital.  His rooms are adjacent to the clinic in an established group practice.

Dr Liebenberg holds a medical degree from Stellenbosch University, a Medical Master’s degree in Psychiatry from the University of Pretoria and is a fellow of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa.  He is fully fluent in both Afrikaans and English.  He has experience in working in many different contexts across the South African landscape and holds registration in Ireland, where he has worked as a Locum Psychiatrist.  He has published academically, appeared on television and was recently employed by the Stellenbosch University’s Department of Psychiatry as a Clinical Trainer to assist in readying psychiatrists in training for their final examinations. 

Dr Liebenberg treats a broad range of conditions, and has a special interest in anxiety and mood disorders.  He attends congresses both locally and abroad on an annual basis to ensure an informed approach. He is registered for full independent practice with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and is a member of the South African Society of Psychiatrists.
